- Breaking a door in Mahan so that it didn't stay closed. I was on usher watch, so I had to stand at this door the entire presentation, holding it shut. A Marine Colonel sat a couple of rows away looking angry at me the whole time.
- Running out of Internet in Rickover. Contrary to popular belief, I am not a very competent computer technician, so when setting up the round table rooms in Rickover, I was not adept at getting all the reporters' computers up and working...even though they were already set up from the day before.
- TP watch. Colonel P over in Sampson was worried about there being too many people using the heads in Mahan, so he put a Marine Major in charge of making sure there is enough toilet paper in them. That got delegated down to me, so I spent some time going around to all the bathrooms that NAFAC delegates were likely to use (including the women's rooms) checking that there was enough paper in all of them. Then, I reported back to said Major that, indeed, the toilet paper situation was under control. Another awkward situation that I never thought the Academy would throw me into.
- We had a Polish midshipman staying in our room. On Wednesday night (when we normally don't have liberty), he went out in town with some other European Union delegates and didn't come back until about 0300, very drunk. Our room was not pleasant smelling the next day.
- *addition* when cleaning up the Command Center the last day, we realized that we had about four boxes of fruit leftover. Therefore, I was ordered to take a box of assorted fruit (apples, bananas, and oranges) with me to my afternoon classes. I managed to give away most of it, but it was still weird carrying around and handing out a bunch of fruit.
